The homepage for TED Talks can be found at httP-s://www.ted.com/ Each paper must align with one of the learning outcomes for the course. The learning outcomes are listed in the course syllabus. The format for your papers is as follows: Student Name Title of Presentation Presenter’s Name and Title (If Provided) Student Leaming Outcome Connection Summary of Presentation Description of What Was Learned Favorite Statements or Quotes As an example, suppose that you would like to write a TED Talk Reaction Paper that aligns with student learning outcome two, particularly some aspects ofhow marketing improves our standard ofliving. You would go to the TED Talk homepage and type terms like “marketing standard ofliving” or “marketing quality of life” in the search field. (The search field is in the upper-right comer and looks like a magnifying glass symbol). Several dozen TED Talk options appear. Suppose that you select the one found at htms://www.ted.com/talks/seth godin on sliced bread . After watching the presentation carefully, follow the format for your paper. It would begin as follows: Student Name: Jane Doe Title of Presentation: How to Get Your Ideas to Spread Presenter’s Name and Title: Seth Godin, Entrepreneur and Blogger Student Leaming Outcome Connection: Leaming Outcome Two, “Marketing and Standard of Living” Summary ofPresentation: (Student supplied) Description of What Was Learned: (Student supplied) Favorite Statements or Quotes: (Student supplied) Papers should be at least two double-spaced pages but no more than five pages. Grades will be assigned based on connection to the course, thoroughness, neatness/grammar, and personal insights. Some student learning outcomes have easy to identify search terms while others might require more creativity. This may not be as difficult as some might think.
