reached the conclusion that you did with respect to your identification of the data collection. Provide your response
in a complete sentence(s).
Critique:
No study is perfect. There are always limitamtions -areas that the study addressed poorly or failed to address.
These may even represent areas worthy of future research. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your critical
thinking skills and have some fun poking holes in someone else’s work.
In a paragraph or two, summarize the major problems you see in this study.
Hint: What are the threats to internal, external, statisitcal conclusion, and contrast validity?
Can you think of any validity threats that might be a problem in the study?
What are the three criteria for causality in nomothetic explanations? Did the researchers address all three areas?
How about generalizability? Would you feel confident in generalizing these findings to other locations, people, and time beyond those in the study?
What about measurement? Are the measures used in the study reliable? Do they have the elements of measurement
validity (i.e., face validity, criterion-related validity, contruct validity, content validity)?
You Do Not have to address all of these areas, but the more weakness you correctly identify, the more points you will get.
